To send the bike from Germany to France, I had to remove my front wheel. At the destination I put it on again. The drive to the top of the mountain was good, but the way down, there were a lot of stones and my bike was hard to control. My front wheel wasn't put on strongly enough.
The result was, that I had an accident, my front wheel dropped out and I fell down. My arm had a big wound with a lot of blood, I was in shock and I had to sit down and do nothing. The car with the food drove me to the hospital but nobody can speak English in France. However, they saw my problem and fixxed the my arm.
I learned from this trip to make sure, that my bike is in a good situation and go always with a person who speaks the language in the country.

Hey David. I love this story about your crazy exciting mishap in France. Whereabouts did this happen? I'm looking for some places to travel in France this fall.
Provence or Corbieres. I'm not sure which one, we were at both places.
Both are wonderful. Only a few cars, wonderful nature, and a lot of small streets to drive with the bike or to walk.
In all villages are nice 'coffee-restaurants', no coffee to go ;)
You can find a lot of wonderful places. Just go to the small streets outsite from the villages and look right and left for smaller ways than the small street and you will find idyllic places.
