the perfect school

To find out what the best school is, we have to view at a lot of important points.

Let us create some general optimal ideas.

- The pupils should have fun
- The teachers should have fun
- The school should be in the near of the home from the pupils and teachers
- The school building should be in good condition
- The pupils should learn what they need after school and more
- The lessons should be interesting and with a lot of good information
- ... and a lot of more ...

How can we make a such school? How can we have fun and learning at the same time? Is it possible? I think so, but it is difficult.
The first problem is the money. Good teachers and small classes need a lot of money, but the most parents have not enough money and the government is always out of money.
The most teachers are old and do always the same. I think the most old teachers are a little bit bored. No more changes, always the same.
What is with the other site, the very young teachers. They was at school, after school on the university and then back in the school to teach. They have only the 'school-knowledge' from the last 100 years and no actually information.
They are hungry to teach and they do it with a lot of fun, but the most can't realize that the most pupils are to old for kindergarten games. At the first 4 oder 7 years it is maybe funny to cut papers and draw some pictures, but not all the time. I'm really interested to learn a lot of things. But not with kindergarten games or a teacher who is bored all the time.
However, it is possible to make a really good lesson. After 13 years of school, I got maybe 3 or 5 good teachers, the rest was bored or full with kindergarten games.
It is not necessary which kind of lesson the teacher is doing. He can teaching maths, sports, languages, whatever, it is nevermind. The teacher must be interested in his profile. Each lesson must be a new wonderful chance to send some information to the pupils. He has to talk confident and with a big background, with or without powerpoint or mindmaps. If the teacher will teach with 100% or 110% of his power the pupils will be silent and they will do the homework.
Sure, it is easier and better to teach in a class with only 10 pupils, but is also possible to teach 30 or 100 pupils at the same time. The teaching style must be a other than by 10 pupils, but it is possible, because the teacher likes all pupils and the most pupils like the teacher.

What is now to do exactly?
The goverment has to send enough money for the schools and maybe less money for wars or whatever.
The teachers must be open for new things and they have to love to teach with 110%.
The pupils must be open for new information and a lot of knowledge. I'm sure, they are open if they can see that school is a good thing and the teachers are interested at the pupils.

David - Very interesting post. I can see you feel very passionately that teachers should have enthusiasm an all their classes, and I totally agree. I always try to teach out of a sense of joy and a desire to share knowledge.

I'm confused about your meaning here: 'The teaching style must be a other than by 10 pupils, but it is possible, because the teacher likes all pupils and the most pupils like the teacher.' Do you mean that teachers must change their teaching style when they are teaching more than 10 students?

Great post! Keep writing.

It will be possible to make groupwork with 10 pupils, but not with 100.
If you have to speech to 100 pupils, it is maybe better to speech exactly step by step and show your way on the board/beamer.
The pupils can follow your way without a lot questions.
If a few pupils have more questions, maybe more details, they can ask you after the speech at a special meeting point.
The pupils with more questions are maybe 5 or 15. And this is a good groupsize to explain a problem individual.
